Lifestyle medicine has become a powerful tool in the fight against chronic diseases, driving a surge in demand for health and wellness coaching. As new developments in health and well-being emerge, wellness professionals need to stay ahead and provide the most effective guidance for their clients.

The Lifestyle and Wellness Coaching program is designed to equip you with practical skills and frameworks to help wellness clients make informed lifestyle changes tailored to their needs and guide them on their journey to holistic health. A cutting-edge curriculum, professional resources, and expert instruction from Harvard Medical School faculty will elevate your coaching skills and empower you to help others adopt and maintain healthy lifestyles.

Curriculum

The Lifestyle and Wellness Coaching program is designed for health coaches, health care professionals, and those seeking to improve their personal health and well-being. During the program, you will:

  • Explore the Foundational Lifestyle Pyramid — an exclusive framework developed by Dr. Beth Frates, a pioneer in lifestyle medicine and an assistant clinical professor at Harvard Medical School — through a set of practical tools, exercises, and activities.
  • Incorporate the most recent research and the six pillars of lifestyle medicine into your coaching practice so that you can empower individuals compassionately and effectively to adopt and maintain healthy behaviors. 
  • Acquire the tools to build a level of rapport that enables you to support clients even in challenging circumstances. 
  • Learn how to empower clients to navigate disruptive life events so that they can learn to maintain healthy living patterns even in the face of stress.
  • Gain valuable insights into encouraging resilience and building and restoring client rapport through interviews with subject-matter experts.
  • Access valuable resources to navigate the changing wellness landscape, and create a lifestyle coaching journal that outlines how you will integrate key techniques into your practice.
